16-03-21 Entry: Website revamp for Tetraexcellence.com.sg
I have just started working on a website revamp for my good friend and mentor Raymond Yap's professional website, Tetra Excellence.
Purpose is 2 fold:
1) His current website has been there since 2015 and not been updated regularly, and I would like to help him do a simple visual and content refresh to keep up with his new programs and services;
2) I'm asking for his help to fund my education through this website revamp project. I told him upfront that I'm getting re-educated to further my journey to becoming a UX/UI designer, and even possibly a Product Designer.
I don't want to just ask for a loan, but hoped to provide some value in return. So he agreed to let me work on his website, even though, as static as his website was, he doesn't really need his website to attract his business. Mostly is through contacts and Facebook.
He is doing me a f*cking big favor. I owe him a big one. Again.
He is using the Tetramap methodology, which focuses on four elements: earth, air, water, fire, each with a pre-defined color. And this is where I started for the color palette:
Homepage
Almost everything are designed using the card component with muted background and geometric shapes. And lots of white space.
There is going to be lots of content update for the homepage to simplify the messages and making them clearer.
Right now the illustrations and images are essentially placeholders until the content are more confirmed.
About Us Page:
Tried throwing some life into the page but having gradients for the page title, blurred card background and slight shadow.
The Vision, Mission, Values and Commitment cards are re-purposed from the 4 elements cards in the homepage by changing the position of the icons and title colors.
Our Clients page:
Simple and straightforward design using card components.
